556952 2007-06-07 08:24:00 Hi,
My computer is on all day 15/7 -I have had a remarkable good run of late.-with no serious problems
This afternoon I was playng a microsoft game when I found the mouse getting very jerky-
I rebooted ( the computer had lapsed into screen shutdown /sleep mode for a lot of the afternoon ) after which I carried on with computering as usual.
and the mouse light came on as the screen formed - then went off before final stage- nothing, even using the crossed keys would move to F1 question to get an answer.
Tried 4 times then left it for 3/4 hour- where upon normality returned.
Came back after tea and it had frozen again- closed everthing down again, came back 30 minutes later- and I managed to get a warning e mail to my chess opponents, before it froze again.
Now I am writing this after yet another 30 minutes switched off--am I running out of Ram? -I have 3.02 Ghz cpu, 512 mb ram and 40 gb harddrive using XP
I am hurriedly typing this in case it goes again which will mean a trip to the computer firm I use.
The mouse is once again getting jerky- the mouse light will go off -and>>>>>>
Can anybody advise please?
Fairly urgent as tomorrow is the end of the week and I will be left computerless- a terrible complaint :angry :groan:
:waughh:

556953 2007-06-07 09:00:00 Hi Effie C

Try another mouse and see if the problem is still there. They don't last forever and maybe a new one could be the answer.

556956 2007-06-07 20:49:00 Hi,
Thank you Smithie and Burnzee,My mouse is a cord connection, not wifi, so that site is not applicable .
Smithie, Your comment is similar to Burnzee, but this morning I tried again after wrestling with it overnight, so far everything is normal- does that mean my "old" pooter needs a sleep?:D
I will leave it going for an hour,as it was left yesterday-if it fails again- I suspect I get a trip into the pooter company -and all I want is NOT to be pooter-less over the week end:yuck:

Burnzee's second posting could be relevant and worth exploring Effie.
