| 556752 | 2007-06-06 20:39:00 | Hello, I have read in many places about winsxs regarding its size and nothing else. Question: 1> What is the function of winsxs in life? 2> What are implications if I delete all of them? Thank you |

| 556753 | 2007-06-06 22:25:00 | Depends what u think Winsxs is. It looks like, if its in your startup it belongs to a trojan, which u definitely dont want. What do u think Winsxs is? |

| 556755 | 2007-06-07 02:58:00 | If you Google it theres tons of info on what it does. And whether or not you need it all. So much, I couldn't be bothered typing it all out here. |

| 556760 | 2007-06-07 15:03:00 | Thanks for the reply. I'll search that link and will give you a feedback. I found the information at the link but it is too cryptic to me since I'm not a developer. The second question: What hapend if I delete those Winsxs? I found this site by searching delete and side-by-side and components and I ended up here: blogs.msdn.com This explains the winsxw and what happens if one deletes those directories. Good starting link the one you posted. I'll consider this posting of mine ANSWERED and CLOSED . Thanks  |
