556608 2007-06-06 10:50:00 If your buying second hand then look at the Audigy 2, avoid the SE and other budget models. (mainly because they are so cheap new that your not saving enough by buying second hand)

If buying new then the Audigy SE 7.1 seems to be the budget card of choice at the moment, Though they look pretty sad to me.

I have been watching the Audigy 2's on trademe over the last couple of weeks, they seem to be going for about $50

556609 2007-06-06 11:02:00 I'm using XP.

Then pretty much everything that isn't 16 years old and relies on an ISA bus should work fine, what are you using now that has bad drivers??

556611 2007-06-07 06:56:00 I got a Creative Soundblaster live (5.1) I've had no probs with it, but Creative are renowned for the crap that they try to install besides the drivers etc. Really annoying- takes as long to get rid of the rubbish as installing and there is NO option when installing.
