556914 2007-06-07 06:04:00 Hi one and all
Just gazing round the mess on my desk and the question popped into my head
"there must be a MFC that does away with a lot of this crap".
What I would like is a MFC with Fax,flatbed scanning, phone, printing with CD/DVD printing ability.
I currently have several devices that cover all these but if we could get this down to one, it would be wonderfull

Does anyone out there have any knowledge or is using of such a device.
I am about to google and see what sort of results I get.

Cheers
HH

556915 2007-06-07 07:50:00 I don't like things that do too much .

If just one part of the all-in-one you have described goes nuts, then you have a crippled device at best . . maybe one that won't work without a handshake to the other devices inside it .

Stereo systems were like that too . . a turntable (remember them?) and a tapedeck (Sanyo reel-to-reel) and an amplifier (Heathkit, all tubes type) and some really nice Teac or Pioneer speakers .

I still stick to satellite devices, even though it's messy and lots of vampires sucking watts in power supplies . . . but they keep my feet warm on cold nights and I don't have to heat this end of the house either .

Summers (ours is coming now) are a different story .

556917 2007-06-07 09:11:00 I know Canon and HP sell all-in-one's aka MFC's, possibly Epson too.
Have a look around various shops that sell computer hardware, they should also sell all-in-one's (places like Warehouse Stationary, Harvey Normans, Bond & Bond etc)

Well thats what started all this. Was looking for a spare USB port (none), unplugged the Ipaq, must have knocked out the power plug to the network switch, this upset my wife as no Trademe.
Started looking at all the power boards (3x 4way) several with tapons, found a ZipDrive that hasn't been used for some time.
This of course led to the thinking of getting rid of some devices.

Bring on wireless power

Will keep looking and thanks for the input one and all
