557491 2007-06-09 04:23:00 how do i remove another administrator user in xp? ivo10 (12015)
557492 2007-06-09 06:25:00 Have you had a look in..control panel..user accounts? Cicero (40)
557493 2007-06-10 14:02:00 You must be currently logged in as an Administrator. At all times there must be an Administrative user that is not disabled on the machine. Chilling_Silence (9)
557494 2007-06-13 10:26:00 i already went to the users icon in control panel. the thing is i that admin account named "Irene" is the one that installed the OS. What i did is i enabled the accoutn "Administrator". Now i want to remove "Irene" but it wont be deleted. there is no option of deleting it. ivo10 (12015)
557495 2007-06-13 12:06:00 Make sure that you are logged in as an administrator. If you don't remember the password than log in under any name that is also an administrator. Than only can you delete other users. ronyville (10611)
557496 2007-06-14 14:00:00 im logged in as administrator but still there is no delete button for the other adminstrator ivo10 (12015)
557497 2007-06-16 02:24:00 any other ideas? ivo10 (12015)
557498 2007-06-16 20:42:00 Logged in as an administrator in safe mode? I think that worked for me once in a similar situation, tho I wouldn't necessarily put money on me being correct. annie (6010)
557499 2007-06-17 00:21:00 Safe Mode Secret Administrator can do just about anything...and not need a password either.

That's one reason why XP-Pro is not safe if someone knows this. They can almost always do anything in Safe Mode and you can't stop them as far as I know.

And another thing...if you want to read someone else's "secret files", all you have to do is log onto that computer with permission, and even if the Administrator has not given you permission to read or even see the secret stuff, just send it to yourself in an enclosure to your own e-mail account.

(I haven't had occasion to try, but I bet that you can get into the Safe Mode Administrator and do this too.)

It'll arrive in your in-box unsecured and readable.

I haven't tried to do that with enigmail yet...I supposed it is safe from that sort of end-run anyway.

557500 2007-06-17 13:10:00 Yes Joe, but if Ive disabled the Administrator User, then that wont work ;)
Also, filesystem permissions are easily circumvented by using another Operating System (LiveCD for example)

ivo10, Running XP Home or Pro?
Try and right-click on My Computer and goto Manage
Click on Users & Groups
Right-click on the Irene user whatever and choose Disable
