| 557214 | 2007-06-08 07:59:00 | Running Win Vista Ultimate. When I insert a DVD it opens up Media player and plays the movie no trouble. However, if I take the disc out and put a new one in, it is ignored by autoplay and windows explorer still shows the original disc. Refresh doesn't. I close and reopen explorer but to no avail. The only way I can get the machine to recognise the new disc is to restart the pc. This is beginning to become extemely annoying. Anyone got any ideas? | andy (473) | ||

| 557216 | 2007-06-08 23:07:00 | I had this issue on my XP work machine and it was due to a registry problem. Try running the Microsoft Autoplay Repair Wizard (www.microsoft.com) and see if this resolves it. [edit: oops, just realised you are using Vista and not XP so I suspect this will not work. However jonboy might like to try it ... ] |

| 557217 | 2007-12-25 02:08:00 | Had no luck with the Microsoft AUTOFIX.EXE program. Have heard this problem can be fixed by going to an IDE cable with more wires (!!!)... The AUTOFIX.EXE program doesn't seem to fix this REFRESH issue. Maybe the XP SP3 will?!!!! | Peter H (220) | ||
| 557218 | 2007-12-25 02:13:00 | SAME problem with XP and VISTA... Think it is some sort of a buffer issue. The explorers think that the previous DVD is still in the drive no matter how many times you try CTRL+R, Shift F5 or any other combinations of keys. Pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE every time you want to swap a disk is probably an overkill... But I am having to do it on my XP PRO with SP2. ---=== < TONY H > ===--- (am using Peter H's account, so ignore the bad spelling) |
