2007-06-11 08:54:00 | I could have written this i this thread, but i did like pressf1.pcworld.co.nz wanted me to do.. (I hope). Even if my problem is very much the same as other people had in that thread (Yes, i have read the hole thread). Well.. To the case: Yesterday i got a error when i played BF2 (battlefield 2). This error was 100000eu, related to my screen drivers.. The thing is that i have played BF2 with this pc and with the same drivers (and all other stuff) for many many months, without any trouble at all.. But suddenly yesterday i got this errors. I might try forum.novatech.co.uk (Memory test) but i think this will not help me. Why? Because it seems to mee that my pc is still running, but that my screeen shuts down. Can it be the temperature on my Radeon X600 card? It's 2.5 years old. Can it be because of dust on it, or a fan (on the screen-card) thats not working? If it was memory-error the hole computer would die, not just the screen.. I think. The first time this happend the sound goes on for 10-30 sec after the crash, just like nothing happend. Then i reebot, got error message i56.photobucket.com I then updated my radeon x600 drivers, restart pc, and tried again. The second time the same happend. After 10 minutes of BF2 playing with no trouble the screen died (no signal) and the sound changed. From normal "game sound" to a high ugly sound going in "pulse".. High ugly sound for 3-5 sec, no sound for 3-5 sec, high ugly sound for 3-5 sec, no sound for... (you get the picture). I have checked dxdiag and no errors at all to see there. Since i have played without any trouble at all, i don't think it can be anything like that.. I might have gotten some automatic windows stuff, but i have also tried to start the system like i did some days before this error (Even if i have not installed or updated anything since i last played without any trouble at all). But the same error happend. I have had this computer for 2.5 years with no errors. I have a fan that make some more sound now than in the beginning, but should not the computer go 100% quiet if it's a main fan thats not working? It seems to me like the screen just looses it signals and therfore turns it selfs off. If it's a temperature problem, why does windows xp say nothing about it in it's error-message (look at picture above, some text in Norwegian at the pic, sorry for that). And does anyone know where i can check/record the temperature on my cpu, prosessor and/or radeon x600 card..? Thanks for all help/tips/anything.. Neverton (from forum.novatech.co.uk).

2007-06-11 09:31:00 | YMPTOMS You may receive one of the following Stop error messages: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER STOP: 0x100000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER_M Back to the top CAUSE This issue might occur if the display driver is caught in an infinite loop while it waits for the video hardware to become idle. This issue typically indicates a problem with the video hardware or that the display driver cannot program the hardware correctly. Back to the top RESOLUTION To resolve this issue, obtain and install the most current driver for your video adapter, or replace your video card. Back to the top WORKAROUND To work around this issue, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display. 2. On the Settings tab, click Advanced, and then click the Troubleshoot tab. 3. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None, and then click to clear the Enable Write Combining check box. 4. Click OK, and then click OK. Note This procedure prevents the display driver from programming the hardware incorrectly, but you may lose some display functionality and performance. Although you can increase the hardware acceleration settings higher than None to regain functionality and performance, these settings increase the chance that the issue will occur again. For maximum stability, leave hardware acceleration off. Back to the top MORE INFORMATION The Stop error message may also occur in video adapter drivers that do not represent a physical device. For example, this Stop error message may occur in the virtual video adapter driver that is used by Symantec PCAnywhere. If PCAnywhere is installed on a computer where this error message occurs, visit the Symantec Web site to determine if there are any available fixes for your version of PCAnywhere. If none of that helps, return the card for replacement or if its got no warranty buy a new one.

2007-06-11 10:29:00 | Yes. I know what it says.. But in other words: You mean that if i don't fix the problem with updating drivers, or will settle for "WORKAROUND" i just have to get myself a new card? It cant be something else than this? Can it help to format and reinstall the hole PC (Windows, new drivers for everything, and so on) after i have open the pc and cleaned it (dust)?

But in other words: You mean that if i don't fix the problem with updating drivers, or will settle for "WORKAROUND" i just have to get myself a new card? No but I would suspect the card as being faulty if it isn't a driver issue. Reinstalling the lot is a bit drastic. You could try updating your motherboard chipset drivers as well. Then borrow another card and try it. |

2007-06-14 16:25:00 | The solution was "simply" to clean inside my computer.. It was a lot of dust inside it. Very much.. Thanks for all the truble, and thanks for all the answers!
