Hey, on my other pc when i start the computer up everything runs fine it loads the user up but i can only see the background picture i cant click on anything start...etc..i aint 100%sure how to run it in safe mode but i dont think its workin,if any1 has an idea or an answer to this please need it asap! cheers mike , |

Only the picture appear because the program 'windows explorer' is not on, not sure how to turn it on. |

this can be symptomatic of a virus infection.........or a troubled system......to run explorer exe (which should be running anyway at startup) hold down alt/ctrl and tap del key one time then you'll get the task manager box........clik 'file/newtask -run' and in the box that pops up browse to c:/windows and you'll find 'explorer.exe' then double clik it........ |

try safe mode first and if it' goes to safe mode then clik startbutton/run and type in msconfig......and then take a close look at the startup list........that might tell you if theres any kind of nasty in there |
