1415788 2016-02-09 08:31:00 Hi guys,

Upgraded to windows 10 and so lost the default windows media centre. Comparing the different free DVR software available online, but keen to hear what you guys use?

Had shortlisted mythTV & Kodi, any thoughts on these?

1415789 2016-02-09 08:49:00 Nextpvr for recording stability. Until a year ago was my orinary playback media centre. But now I'm plex based and use a roku so Tend to look at kodi more. Bug still have nextpvr as a back end for kodi.

It's not open source, but it is free and developed in Wellington by one guy

1415791 2016-02-09 10:19:00 This tuner comes with AverTV that works fine Speedy Gonzales (78)
1415792 2016-02-09 17:54:00 I use media portal and have done for years. Have tried others but always end up back with mp. CYaBro (73)
1415793 2016-02-09 19:40:00 There is a kind of hack that will put Media center back in windows 10. It's a 55 mb zipped file. Search for WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0.zip Speedy Gonzales (78)
1415794 2016-02-09 19:42:00 I just use the bundled software, think it's AverTV same as speedy. I did prefer windows media centre on windows 7 though.
But I should sell my tuner, it's a dual tuner that streams over my network to any 2 of my PC's at once so it's great in theory, but I never actually use it.
