1415454 2016-02-04 15:40:00 The battery icon on my task bar keeps disappearing no matter what I do. I've looked at other forums that have solved this problem, but it doesn't stay fixed. I have Windows 10. I've tried going into settings -> system -> notifications -> turn icons on and off, but the option for battery can't be selected.
And I've tried going into devices manager and disabling AC adapter and ACPI-compliant control method battery and then re-enabling them. This makes the icon come back, but it will always go away again later.

1415455 2016-02-04 18:57:00 Depending on what version of W10 you have, there are some other fixes. Do you have Home or Pro ?

Others have also updated their BIOS ( from the manufactures site) and fixed it.

1415457 2016-02-04 20:16:00 This is from another forum, cant test it as non of the laptops have pro installed, only desktops ( which don't have a battery meter)

1. Go to start or click in search, type in gpedit.msc and press enter.

2.Navigate to expand User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Start Menu and Taskbar and disable "Remove the battery meter".

3. restart

1415458 2016-02-05 16:16:00 Similar to the other solutions, the battery icon reappeared, but it vanished again when I turned it on after turning it off for the night. Manderlin278 (17445)
