1409944 2015-10-15 22:07:00 Have been trying to choose a voice for our gps that SWMBO & I can hear clearly.
The default Australian & English ones tend to be a little soft for our old ears.
On a recent update I found a custom voice "Team Garmin Dave Zabriske"
We both like this one with its sharp US accent.
However, he, (the voice) tends to make smart comments during a trip.
We would like to remove these out of the voice file.
I have copied the file to my desktop but cant open it as it is .vpm
Google tells me "Voice Editor V.08" will allow me to convert the file or files to .wav.
I haven't as yet been able to find this software.
Would anyone know another way to access these files?

1409946 2015-10-16 03:20:00 As I said, we find the default voices are not very clear.
Possibly because the gps is mounted in a dash recess, instead of being stuck to the windscreen.
The speaker is at the rear of the unit.

1409947 2015-10-17 07:28:00 Sorry I can't help.
But I was/am disappointed at the lack of good voices for my Garmin.

I want John Cleese or Bill Connelly.

Those English and Australian ladies cant even pronounce English street names correctly, let alone Maori ones.

It's an excellent unit otherwise.
There is a program available on the Garmin site that allows you to add your own voice files, if you are that way inclined.
