1409316 2015-10-04 22:21:00 US Gun control still debates today after nearly 200 years based on interpretations, limitations, and even violations of the 2nd amendment (www.law.cornell.edu) It was largely based on the English bill of rights from 1689 around when James 11 was other thrown.

Their are different gun control laws/permits (www.nraila.org)(carry laws), within each state, and some are not recognized in other states. In fact a man had to get a Governor pardon (www.trentonian.com) ("blame the democrat legislature" for violation of 2nd amendment) in New Jersey for a gun he legally owned, but had forgotten to conceal it properly.

Too much dynamics, to get guns banned or controlled/legislated effectively, at state, local, and federal levels and effectively applying the 2nd amendment, which can also incorporate their 14th amendment at local and state levels. State Senators, Governors all want their say, then becomes a hierarchical political minefield perhaps.

1409318 2015-10-05 09:26:00 Laws only make a difference to law abiding people. They do not make a blind bit of difference to either criminals or to the mentally deranged in the population of any country. More restrictions on gun control in the USA would help save about the same percentage of lives as antismacking laws here have stopped little children being killed by those who are expected to care for them.

Tautology; it would be hard for this post to be less relevant.

1409320 2015-10-12 03:33:00 They have very poor firearm laws there. With good vetting of owners and having to have a firearms licence would help alot. Any one with a history of metal illness or have been in jail shouldn't be allowed to own a firearm. In many states you don't need a licence. I agree, the number of fire arms isn't the problem. Removing peoples rights to own a firearm is a large step towards tyranny. If the Syrians had better access to firearms, I expect they would have stayed and fought. asdex (1488)
