1415351 2016-02-03 09:14:00 The windows directory is 11.5GB, office is using 1.6GB, the paging file is 1.9GB so that's 15GB already with nothing else. On a 32GB SSD that's past half full already.
I removed all traces of windows 8 and system restore points except for the latest. The tablet is perfectly usable, just need to make sure not to install too much.
Compared to this PC with it's 512GB SSD, the windows directory is 16.5GB by itself.

I had considered setting the swap file onto the micro SD but I'm not sure how that'd go or if windows will allow it on a removable drive. I just ran CCleaner, uninstalled an unused program and have a whopping 7.36GB free of 28.4 total
I'm actually quite impressed that any version of windows is usable on 32GB TBH. There are a couple of hidden partitions that use up about .5 of a GB in total as well.

It took a bit of trickery to get windows 10 to install because there was not enough space to upgrade from 8. Luckily the keyboard dock has a 500GB hdd I was able to use for setup and storage of restore files but it's unreliable and slow so not a good feature in practice, the contacts tend to occasionally disconnect when hinging the screen and the drive seems to use a USB 2 interface judging by device manager and performance.

1415352 2016-02-03 23:04:00 Windows will not accept a SD card as a swap file. You can put programs & My Documents on a SD card. I did this when I put TW7 on an Asus 701 with a 4 GB SSD. You can set the swap file to a minimum of 200mb and increase the RAM if necessary. The Asus worked well but suffered in the Summer from overheating. mzee (3324)
1415353 2016-02-04 01:13:00 I'll leave the swap file dynamic unless I run out of disk space, this tablet has 2GB of RAM and can not be upgraded. I have set all the my documents, pictures, etc locations onto the micro SD but the drive letter changed at some point and broke that and I haven't fixed it yet.

Thing is, my tablet is fine and doesn't need fixing. I just used it as an example of windows 10 running on a 32GB SSD to show how tight that is. If you install more than a few programs I think you really need to have at least 64GB to run windows comfortably. I've even stuck with the default browser and anti-virus to save some space which I might not normally do.

Depends a lot on which version of W10 & what build.

Just done a fresh instillation a W10 with all drivers via Windows update and nothing else. The windows folder on its own is 13.6GB the total disk usage with the remainder in programs folders ( default programs Windows installs) and other system folders is 17.9GB
