1410138 2015-10-18 05:58:00 Much as I like Windows 10.
I must admit that when it starts up I go straight to my old 7 desktop.

I don't use any of the modern apps.

Do any of you use Windows 10, the way MS intend it or are you like me?

1410139 2015-10-18 06:14:00 This PC I'm on now, has W10. The desktop is used exactly like W7, the start actually closer to W8.1. Apart from the different Icons I would challenge anyone to be able to tell the difference. The New W10 start Menu I dont use at all, as all the tiles are there as per W8.1. Including the Object Doc ( as per a MAC) :D

As for the default W10 Apps -- Only the settings, with the old control panel right beside it :)

1410141 2015-10-18 07:05:00 Settings, Twitter, Video (cos I can't be bothered changing the default) on my desktop. pcuser42 (130)
1410142 2015-10-18 10:08:00 Netflix app, easier than a browser shortcut and gives the same result. Otherwise nope. dugimodo (138)
1410143 2015-10-18 16:42:00 OH yeah - I forget Settings, that's a great App! Digby (677)
1410144 2015-10-18 23:02:00 There are a few things in W10 which are a bit odd!
1] Duplication of commands settings and Control panel.
2] 'Backup & Restore" (Windows 7)
It seems that Windows 7 was modified to be Windows 10 without removing the original commands and items.

I am currently using a W7 type start menu, the original W10 Start is still operational. I only place frequently used programs on the W7 start menu. I find it to be quicker than wading through columns of icons. I keep the desktop clear for sticky notes.

1410145 2015-10-19 01:11:00 I do quite like the weather app, for the easy access to historical info. Other than that, nope. wratterus (105)
1410146 2015-10-19 09:09:00 No third party ones, I use a couple of the first party ones. Mainly settings, music, and photos. Nick G (16709)
