| 1409194 | 2015-09-30 06:16:00 | I mentioned a couple of months ago that I had fibre broadband installed successfully (that is, internet access only). All good. Well I was arranged to 'hook up' my land line yesterday morning between 11am - Noon, and dutifully got an email to say it had been done. Then I set and made the necessary adjustment 'under the desk' - and found that I had no dial tone, not land line. And that is when the fun began! After a long wait (in my view) I talked to a bloke and did all he said (but wasn't sure why I a needed a ADSL cable), so off to Dickies to get one. Didn't make any difference. So rang again - another long wait, got talking to another bloke, and no, he was no more helpful than the last. At 4.30pm, I went to the local Spark shop in town, waited a long time in a queue, got a pleasant girl this time, who then did what I had done, rung Spark. After another long wait, she told me that Chorus would be in touch (time known, or unstated). So I sat at home this morning - nothing happened, and still nothing has happened at 7.07pm. So by 3pm I was getting a little agitated - so tried to 'Chat' to Spark this time. I waited until 6pm, and then inadvertently deleted to unfulfilled conversation! Buggar... Then I filed a complaint with Spark - who are 'anxious to help'. Hoho, but remarkably absent when I need them. So - tomorrow I will go back to the shop in town at 9am - and continue to be a public nuisance. :) Any other suggestions as to how I can get some action? I really DO need my land line - archaic isn't it? Now I feel marginally better - Customer Service is non-existent and the more we can tell people about has to be a good thing, but I suspect at the end of the day, it is 'All talk and no action' - and who cares really? |

| 1409197 | 2015-09-30 06:29:00 | Yes - I know. However, up till now, I haven't had reason to complain. That has certainly changed in the last two working days. | R.M. (561) | ||

Oh come on Digby, Spark are an outstanding company. :lol: $23,000 for 1.5gig of data. :eek: HERE (www.nzherald.co.nz) |

I' I've been using Telecom / Spark for the past 5 years with no problems. Got fiber and later fiber landline with no problems. Wonder why the OP didn't ask for a tech to come out and sort it?? |

The whole matter strikes me as odd, but the bit I would like explained is how did 1.5 gig of data come to $23,000? :confused: There must be some mistake surely? |

| 1409202 | 2015-09-30 21:06:00 | Nope, that's why you don't data roam unless your life depends on it...just buy a prepay portable hotspot from the country you're visiting if you need mobile data. | wratterus (105) | ||

Spark's website says it charges $5/MB for data in Sri. Lanka, so he went through around 5GB in about 3 weeks.. |
