558701 2007-06-13 04:55:00 Last week I got hit by a rather nasty Trojan, that jumped onto my Portable HDD at University.

Does anyone know of any software (firewall?) that I could install on my drive to prevent this from happening in the future?

558702 2007-06-13 04:59:00 I think Firewalls only work on operating systems rather than on portable Hard Drives and they don't keep stuff out that you are intentionally letting in. You could try the sensible method of virus scanning the folders that your about to load onto your portable HD prior to putting them there - or- scan your HD from your home PC before transferring the contents of your HD onto your PC. winmacguy (3367)

A write-enable switch is a good thing to have. Some "flash disks" have that, to confuse their users. :D
