| 560009 | 2007-06-17 08:11:00 | I've got this modem working etc. KPPP finds it OK. (Under /dev/modem). But wont dial. The stupid things says Initializing and does nothing. Gnome - PPP doesnt detect it, most probably coz its still /dev/modem not TTY / whatever. But dials then disconnects. Even tho well according to Ubuntu its (/dev/modem), is linked to TTY/So or whatever its called. Pon / POff is the only thing that works to dial up. Now that I've found a driver (non-official), for the modem which says it SHOULD work PROPERLY with KPPP, how do u kill / uninstall / the current driver and reinstall another / maybe updated driver? Also, is a modem MEANT to appear under Networking (cant remember what it is exactly, I'm not in Linux). The place where u can change the ethernet/settings ip etc. Or are the Ethernet options the only thing u can actually see? Besides using that other program (the one that lets u activate the modem - not pppconfig). |
