559822 2007-06-16 22:38:00 Hi, I have a 6600GT (AGP8X) 128 MB, just recently when I start up it says there isn't enough power to run the card properly so it reduces it speed in order to ensure safe working. I have a 420 watt Thermatake, surely this is enough, I'm running hardly any other pheripherals. Reseated all associated power connections on Motherboard and Graphics card. Had the system for about 3 years without any problems. Motherboard is an ASUS P4P800.

Cheers
Pete

559823 2007-06-17 00:39:00 Yeah the 430w PSU is more than adequate. But it may be faulty. Greg (193)
559824 2007-06-17 01:05:00 I run a 430w Thermaltake PSU on my system with no problems.

You'd be right. Its over rated.

Still if it was sufficent before and you haven't added any new hardware in addition to what you have, then I'd agree its faulty.
Replace it.
