559644 2007-06-15 15:13:00 I have an internal server based network which connects to a hardware gateway with fixed IP addresses 192.168.0.254 (internal) and 192.168.1.253 which connects to my ADSL modem/ router. The router IP is 192.168.1.254.
How do I forward the port for utorrent?
bpt2 (6653)
559645 2007-06-16 02:25:00 Forward the utorrent port/s from router to 192.168.1.253. From the hardware gateway forward the same port/s to your server IP or whatever IP your client is. berryb (99)
559646 2007-06-16 12:48:00 The gateway is a linux based PC with two network cards. How would I go about portforwarding on that PC? bpt2 (6653)
559647 2007-06-18 04:15:00 What are you using on the Linux box. IP Cop type of program or a standard Linux installation? Look at the firewall settings. berryb (99)
559648 2007-06-18 09:47:00 I did not set up the linux based gateway but what I understand is that it simply acts as a firewall. Without tracking down the guy who set it up how can I check it out? I can use Putty to access it. bpt2 (6653)
559649 2007-06-19 01:41:00 Search google for that. Plenty of help for firewall settings. I only do it when I have to and normally have to google to remind myself the process. berryb (99)
559650 2007-06-19 12:32:00 You would probably be best off finding a suitable program to assist with firewall management. Unfortunately I have no idea what might be suitable.

If you want to go the manual route the example at the end here is good:

www.linuxquestions.org

You will need to change "ppp0" to be the external interface and update the options at the top to point to the utorrent computer on your network.
