559721 2007-06-16 06:59:00 DVDs are great on a wide screen :) Especially when you have a good speaker set up.

Ditto, especially with a 22 incher:D

559722 2007-06-16 07:37:00 If you are not watching DVD's I would recommend a 4:3 aspect ratio over widescreen, you get more "real estate" for the width than you do with a wide screen .

I run 2 x 19" 4:3 aspect ratio's side by side, but my laptop that I use occasionally is 16:9 wide screen .

The laptop is good for DVD, but highly annoying for 99% of the work it is used which is MS Office related .

When working on a letter you simply don't see as much of the letter height wise on a wide screen .

The desktop with dual 4:3's are just great though, even in single screen mode .

I would not want wide screen by choice for office type work . Putting 2 letters side by side on a single wide screen makes them too small for me .

559724 2007-06-16 08:00:00 now..I guess if you're rich you can try running dualscreen
one more 'square' and the other widescreen
and just pick which monitor to use under different situation~
I watch both 4:3 and 16:9 material
would be nice if I was..well..rich :D
add a 24' widescreen with my 19' would be nice~

um..think I just posted a useless post..

559729 2007-06-16 14:50:00 I like my wide-screen, you will gain pixel height if you go 20.1" or above and a lot more width too.

Widescreen 1680X1050
Normal 4:3 1280X1024

559730 2007-06-16 16:33:00 I have to lend my support for those saying 4:3, mainly because this is my personal preference. I don't need a wide screen and ones I have used have done weird stretching things with the screen...also I prefer 4:3 for gaming and my main things for this computer are internet and gaming with a bit of assignment work on the side, but that stuff's not important compared with the former ;)

I'm quite happy with a 17" LCD at 1280x1024 (although I don't run 2 apps side by side)
