559655 2007-06-15 19:57:00 Hi there my friends. I think you might know what the U3 technology is on the flash or pen drives typically from Sandisk and Kingston. My question is: Is there a way to install this U3 programs on any others drives that are not sandisk or Kingston, ones that does not come with it?? Thanks in advance! JOYBEBA6679 (10686)
559656 2007-06-15 22:17:00 Yup, I use a 1 GB Sandisk here.

I would say no.

Coz the flash drive would most probably have to have the same program (LPInstaller) that the Sandisk flash drives uses.

Which installs the launchbar on the flash drive.

And this would most probably only work on U3 specific flash drives.

559657 2007-06-15 22:36:00 U3 software will not run on a non U3 drive, however you may want to take a look at http://portableapps.com/ gcarmich (10068)
559658 2007-06-16 16:51:00 You can install old DOS games (with an emulator) on a non-U3 flash drive too. I've found that it works quite well once you know how to do it. It's not hard, it took me a while because I'd never really used DOS prompts.

I'm assuming this means that if you were using, say a Playstation or xbox emulator you could probably install those games on it too...although they're alot bigger than DOS games.
