560730 2007-06-20 00:18:00 ok i recently hooked my computer back up.
i have had it for approx 2 years or so and never once had a problem.
last night i get back from vacation put it back together and get

"IDE Channel 0 no 80 conductor cable installed"

then i swapped cables to the one with the blue end..

"IDE Channel 1 no 80 conductor cable installed"

also says (40) floppy drive failed or something like that...

but anyways when i hooked up the blue cable i pushed F1 and it said

"error loading operating system"
and for some reason my c-drive wont boot from disk..

please help me and sorry i didnt put this in with the other one i didnt feel like hunting it down..

the comp i have

asus mobo (dont know exact model)
AMD sempron 3200+
ATI Radeon 9800 pro all-in-wonder
2x 512 ram
2x crap hardrives <- lol

560732 2007-06-20 00:27:00 yeah so i could ship it easier.

560733 2007-06-20 00:35:00 Oh, okay, gotcha

Well, I would start with the basics, blue 80 pin cable to HDD, use the ends of the cable, not the centre connection, check that the HDD jumpers are set to master.

Dont worry about connecting the optical drive for now.....

560734 2007-06-20 00:39:00 ok so hook the hardrives up to the cable with the blue end correct? (they are kinda both grey just 1 has a blue end :/ )

ill go try that

560735 2007-06-20 00:43:00 ok just hooked master HDD to the blue ended cable no longer have the IDE channel 1 no 80 conductor cable installed. i still have the floppy error so i hit F1 it said "Verifieing DMI pool" or something then "operating system failed" SkiLLz (12437)
560736 2007-06-20 01:33:00 You have 2 HDD's or 1?. Just hook up 1 1st, if fails on that, the wrong HDD is set as master!, so try the other SolMiester (139)
560737 2007-06-20 01:36:00 uhh apparently my brother suggests that my Cdrive took a dive so im gonna pop his in and just reformat. thanks for your help tho much appreciated. SkiLLz (12437)
