| 560444 | 2007-06-18 13:50:00 | Hi everyone, I stuffed up... I reformatted my old desktop and did a fresh install of XP. After spending a few boring hours backing up all the data I wanted to keep, I forgot to save my extensive bookmarks list from firefox... I only relized after XP was re-installed and I went to use firefox... Anybody know of any magical way I can get them back again? Anyone have any similar experiences and used a data recovery tool or something? Thanks... |

| 560447 | 2007-06-18 20:42:00 | After spending a few boring hours backing up all the data I wanted to keep, Yep, buggered is right. Theoretically the bookmarks and other data may be there somewhere but you would have to spend big bucks to get a professional data recovery business to try and look for any missing data. And now is a good time to get Acronis Drive Image so you don't have to spend hours backing up data. Acronis quickly backs up everything. There are freebie drive image programs around if you want to go cheap. BTW, even though a person chooses to have a fresh install, drive images can be placed on another hd or on disks, so you can access bookmarks or whatever data. |

| 560453 | 2007-06-18 23:24:00 | yes I think it does only work with FF Although as part of googles web history you can save your bookmarks online and they will be accessed through your google account, I have never used this function though, just noticed i have a bookmarks link in my google web history |
