| 560414 | 2007-06-18 12:21:00 | I'm sure I've seen some program that can turn off hdd so people with HTPC can turn their noisy hdd off during play back of discs or when streaming over network for me I just need to turn the hdd off on my notebook instantly when I want it to ..trying to save battery life when I'm simply listening to some music off my ram drive for some reason google failed me or my choice of keywords were bad.. anyone came across one before? |

| 560415 | 2007-06-18 19:30:00 | Are we talking linux or windows? There is an app in Linux, its called hdparm ... google it :) However, constantly turning your harddrive on and off can induce more wear on the harddrive than is normal |
