| 560439 | 2007-06-19 07:05:00 | I can understand 1Terrabyte. I am a video hobbyist and have often thought of buying a couple of large drives to back up all my stuff in full definition. Full definition is around 13GB per hour as an AVI file and Hi def video around the same as a m2t file. It makes for easy editing, especially with the AVI files. I could fill another with my Atrac files which I rip at 352k for optimum quality. I also have thousands of photos captured in hi resolution. Yep, hard drives are getting cheaper and it is looking a good option. I have 160GB on my laptop, 120GB and 80GB external drives and when I am doing editing for friends, I am always looking for space. Maybe DL Blu-Ray disks may be the future option. Ken  |

It's annoying making a 5.9 computer - then making one far better that's also a 5.9 ..... The way they did it, I hear, is that 5 is meant to be the 'best available' hardware when Vista came out. |

| 560441 | 2007-06-19 08:28:00 | My new HD is 250GB of which I have used 72.8GB so far. My old one was a 40GB HD which got very full very quickly. I have got a few movies that I have started to edit but I need some more footage to be able to finish them off. I have seen 1TB portable HDs are Hardly Normals for about $1700. or 500GB HDs for about $500 although I haven't looked on pricespy. Blockbuster favours Blu-ray movies over HD DVD www.itnews.com.au |
