562139 2007-06-24 00:36:00 I have a computer with on board audio.
I have downloaded & install the most current driver - no sound.
I installed pci sound card successfully - still no sound.

would this indicate that there is a motherboard fault?

562140 2007-06-24 00:57:00 More likely a problem with your operating system.
Which would be?

562142 2007-06-24 01:49:00 So u have onboard sound and u put a PCI soundcard in??

Disable the onboard in the BIOS, u dont have a voice/fax modem do you??

If u do, this maybe the default sound.

562143 2007-06-24 01:54:00 I do have on-board sound which I would prefer to use. I only put in the pci sound card to see where the problem may be.
I do have a modem installed, so I am going to uninstall it & reboot and report back the results.

562145 2007-06-24 02:01:00 Install the mobo drivers which should be the first thing u installl AFTER a clean install.

Check device manager and see whats got a ? beside it.
