561817 2007-06-23 04:01:00 Hi there!
Bought a game Crazy frog racer and tried to install. Was told that my system don't comply to min requirements.
My sys is Winxp home without service packs 1 and 2 Athlon 750 MHz and RAM 512 MB
Graphic card NVIDIA Gforce2 with latest driver, card memory 32MB.
According to game manual it is Ok.
Any ideas?
Thanks

561818 2007-06-23 04:12:00 Are you sure it doesn't want the service packs installed?

Any reason why you haven't installed them anyway?

561819 2007-06-23 04:47:00 System Specifications
CPU: Intel Pentium II 400MHz or equivalent
OS: Windows 98/2000/XP
Memory: Minimum of 256MB RAM
HDD: 300MB of free space
CD-ROM: CD/DVD-ROM drive
Video: Minimum Nvidia TnT/Geforce or equivalent. (Transform and Lighting TNL recommended) Support for 32bit textures and 32bit display (True Colour)

Do you have the free space?
Have you got the latest DirectX? It doesn't say which version it wants, but I'd install 9.0c anyway.

SP1 or SP2 should have nothing to do with it.

561820 2007-06-23 05:16:00 Check the readme about known issues with graphics cards. the GForce series have been known to cause problems on some games.

And PCtek, I only asked about the SP1 and SP2, because some games require them.

561821 2007-06-23 09:43:00 It did not ask for SP1 and SP2. It did ask to reinstall Direct x9 that came with the game but it don't help. Will go to the forum of the game developer Mercury games. Will see if they can help. taly (5956)

ThanksRunning a game below recommend system is not recommended. Beside I already tried it and regret it with Test Drive Unlimited. You won't be able to enjoy the game, because it will definitely lag, plus graphics is poor too.

Here's my 2cent tip:
IF you can't afford to keep up with the new PC games hardware requirements, I suggest getting a console.
1st of all console is a fixed thing and no worry about upgrades, pc requirements etc.
2nd console is price is a lot cheap than PCs.

And for example you can get an X-Box cheaply plus cheap price games too.

:waughh: What's so great about Crazy Frog Racers anyway? Try the high poly game like Test Drive Unlimited, it is just awesome.

561823 2007-06-23 11:33:00 Is Test Drive Unlimited free? cos if I'm paying for a game nowadays its usually for my Xbox or saving up for a 360 and Halo3:D:D:D beeswax34 (63)
561824 2007-06-23 11:43:00 Is Test Drive Unlimited free? cos if I'm paying for a game nowadays its usually for my Xbox or saving up for a 360 and Halo3:D:D:DLet me explain about TDU, first you arrived on this island with 200,000 to spend, 1st you must buy a house, 2nd you must get a car, 3rd you must race and make your way up, XBOX 360 works fine with online but for PC you need a patch which is not released yet for ages.
Oh yeah, if you love collecting cars, this is the game you want. The Hawaii island is big but once you've finished exploring it you get a special reward "Highest Home in the Island" known as "Heaven of Peace" lol. You can buy houses, clothes, cars, bikes, collect rare cars as a reward once you've finished the mission, and yeah this is a pretty big game, at least a lot longer than Need for Speed Carbon.
There's tons in there, I suggest getting a console version rather than suffer the bugs.

561825 2007-06-23 15:02:00 According to the game manual my system is above minimum requirements. Service packs never mentioned. It's just only thing a could think of.
Thanks for responses anyway.

561826 2007-06-23 21:29:00 Even if the game doesn't require service packs, install them anyway, unless the PC has no internet access. pcuser42 (130)
