| 562650 | 2007-06-25 11:00:00 | Doesn't just check for deadlinks - it checks all your bookmarks (in most browsers) and downloads the favicon applicable to each . I've had the program for years and it's been updated quite a few times since so I guess that's one of its new features . FavOrg has been mentioned here a few times also, which you would have seen if a search had been done like I suggested . ;) I agree that both are good programs . |

| 562652 | 2007-06-26 00:38:00 | Okey doke i tried the AM-deadlink thing (and got rid of dozens of dead links), however the favicon i was looking at doesn't show, the ie bookmarks list just shows the unknown filetype image, all the other favicons appear fine I just want to stress that this favicon works fine in all other browsers Edit ------------ Yay for Gimp---------- I have always done my favicons in Fireworks MX and saved them with an .ico extension, i just resaved the image in Gimp as a windows icon file, out it up on the site and it works |

| 562653 | 2007-06-26 01:53:00 | It seems to take a little bit of playing around. Drag the icon to your desktop. Add it to your Favourites. Close IE. Open IE and go to your favourites and open the link. Hey presto. (or maybe have to re-close and re-open IE first). I think some other fiddles work as well from memory, but as I seldom use IE and this method worked for me in IE6. |
