562664 2007-06-25 21:42:00 Just started to install it, and it wants me to uninstall Spybot / AdAware and disable Windows Firewall.

Ignore it.

Yes I'd disable MS firewall but not remove the others.

562665 2007-06-25 22:29:00 I wouldn't touch it with abarge pole. My sister has it on here PC (came with it pre-installed) and it is a resource hog and slows the whole PC down. Very slow at scanning as well. Pops up irelevant messages. Big John (551)
562666 2007-06-25 22:42:00 Umm... didn't have the courage to ask yesterday but feel a bit braver today.... why did you go and buy Trend-Micro? FoxyMX (5)
562667 2007-06-25 22:47:00 I tried this program a few months ago.

All it did was cut me off every 30 mins.

Dont know if it was the program or a setting in it, I had to enable/disable

So that was the end of this firewall.

562668 2007-06-25 22:53:00 Hmm that's curious, I'm running Trend Internet Security here and did a full system reinstalla few days ago. Never once had Trend say to get rid of Ad-Aware or Spybot, It automatically disabled Windows firewall and I had no hassles at all.

Cheers

562669 2007-06-25 22:59:00 Well i use trend micro 2007, and it works perfectly fine, as for slowing the system down i haven't seen any antivirus that doesn't, and on my machine the difference is pretty negligible,

The only time i have ever seen trend micro have a really adverse effect on a systems performance is when the trend-micro version predates the OS it was installed on, as in my wife had a version that predated XP installed on XP, and it ran like Parekura Horomia up Baldwin Street, but when upgraded to a newer version it ran fine

No you've done good. Trend Micro is a good product. However, everyone has their own opinion about AV. Personally I've never encountered any problems with it, either the stand-alone PC-Cillin version or the server based SMB version.
