563834 2007-06-27 23:45:00 Installed Acronis True Image, made a backup image of the C: and it looks great! But when I tested the restore function using "Snap Restore Operation", an error says:

"Error 00160005: No Boot Volume found in the Image"

Followed quite closely to the user manual to perform the backup. Selecting the other option, "Restore disk or Partition" works fine, though.

What have I done wrong?

To see what it means / how to fix it?

563836 2007-06-28 00:23:00 How many drives\partitions do you have?. Have you re-installed XP before leaving another drive\partition active with you docs etc.
If so, this could mean the boot.ini file is referenced to the other partition which acronis dosnt like....

1 HDD with 2 partitions, C, & D. C is for system/programs and D is for data files. Acronis Secure Zone is created in partition D:

Did not re-install XP.

563839 2007-06-28 04:13:00 When recovering your system hard disk from Acronis Secure Zone, you can start working in seconds while your system is still being restored! Using the new proprietary Acronis Snap Restore algorithm, Acronis True Image will find sectors, allowing the operating system to boot, and restore them in seconds. After the system boots up, you can start any application or open any file. Acronis True Image will feel what files you need and restore them immediately — you would never guess that they have been restored but not read directly from the hard disk. At the same time, the complete sector-by-sector disk restoration will proceed in the background. Finally, the disk will be fully restored even if you perform no actions at all. But if you choose to start working as soon as possible after a system failure, you will gain at least several minutes. The more the disk size is, the more time you save. In addition, you do not have to set any options, using Acronis Snap Restore — in fact, it performs the so-called one-click restoration.

I certainly wouldn't trust that. Just do it the normal way.

How did you get on bk T ?
I recall somebody saying that the filename should not contain spaces and since I had up until then given my filenames spaces I stopped doing that immediately. Although I always verify I have not had to restore yet so am not absolutely certain the things will work (though am optimistic).

563843 2007-07-02 10:12:00 No file name is required if using Acronis Secure Zone.

Using the option " Restore disks or partition" has no problem.

This piece of software works great but seems a little slower than Ghost 2003.
