563185 2007-06-26 08:25:00 ok i just managed to shuffled together a new rig, i assembled everything according to the manual and instructions, i connected everything and turned the power on, all my fans including the heat sink, PSU, case fans gfx card fans came alive and were spinning, but im getting no response from the motherboard. i cant even operate my DVD drive, no beeps, no signals on my monitor no, no response at all.

can someone please help me with this problem, one thing i have noticed is that my PSU doesnt having a 4pin ATX 12V connector in a shape of the square, im only using a 24pin ATX cable as power to my mobo.

my specs are

Well that is your problem.
The CPU is not getting power without that power cable.
Surely that PSU would have one??
Some of the newer, bigger wattage PSUs have two 12v 4 pin connectors.
Perhaps these are stuck together??

You're right

It says:

It would have been ideal if the SilverStone Olympia had both a 4-pin and 8-pin EPS12V power connector for use in server environments requiring the extra power; however, motherboards like the Tyan Tempest i5000XT that require both connectors can use a molex to 4-pin ATX12V power adapter.

The 8 pin is for PCI-E, so if u have any PCI-E cards, dont chop that 8 pin in 1/2.

And if there's a molex connector on the mobo, it maybe easier to get an adapter and plug it into that.

Yes it does . Its 8pin, because there are 2 4pins and they are currently joined, they unclip so that you can use 1 4pin .

Look closely .
