564611 2007-06-30 05:31:00 Just updated to itunes 7.3, and now I am getting the following error as a popup error box.

The itunes library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-50)

This keeps popping up , and now makes itunes unusable. Aprt from this , I haven't had any probelms with itunes apart from it being slow and clunky.
ANyone know how to fix this? I have searched the apple site but the error isn't mentioned that I can see.

564612 2007-06-30 05:34:00 There is an Apple issue that is waiting to be fixed in iTunes 7.3 ...although they are also having a few issues with the iPhone launch so your call will be answered when a representative becomes available.
Thankyou for holding.

Thanks for that. I have reverted back to 7.22 until they have fixed it with the next release, as it is obviously affecting a lot of people. A pity apple didn't test it properly before the released it.

They have had errors before with iTunes updates so it is not that uncommon. This one just happens to be on top of one of the most publicized product releases ever with 300,000-400,000 iPhone customers all wanting to set up their brand new iPhones in the same hour:eek: The reason for the update was to include the iPhone registration and usage features in iTunes.

Because it is a cross platform app. Of course Windows is virus free and works all the time  They will most likely have a fix out in the next 2 - 3 days. Fortunately you don't need the upgrade if your not an iPhone customer since that is the only reason for it.

There is no reason why apple couldn't release the updated itunes with iphone support months ago, rather than on the day that the phone is released. They have kind of created the problem themselves, as they were obviulsy going to be really busy with the new phone product, and now they have to fix itunes for all their other ipod customers who are going to be contacting them to complain. Not good PR for them
The reason why they didn't release the new itunes iphone version months ago was no doubt becasue they wanted to keep iphones itunes features secret until the release date.

Well thats true and since its 11mb bigger, than the last one, I wont be in a hurry to get it on dialup.

If I had something decent for syncing with the Ipod, I wouldnt be using Itunes.

I would agree that it is a bit of a strange way to do it although it does ensure secrecy.
