| 564287 | 2007-06-29 07:29:00 | Hai All, I have Compaq v3000 model Laptop i installed inthis win xp, all software installed fine.But audio was not played.I installed for audio drivers suupport purpose sp33566.exe and HP softpaq(sp32646), when ever i installed audio drivers(sp34386) at the time i got error like this "Driver Installation Failed:could not find the media device for this driver". plz any one know reply me as soon as possible. |

| 564291 | 2007-06-30 04:28:00 | What you need is Microsoft Universal Audio sp33566 Conexant High Definition Audio Driver (for AMD) sp34386 I had the same/similar to problem with my v3209, installed XP Pro SP2 but no sound. All other devices works just my sound. I would recommend, if possible, do a fresh install of xp then install MS Universal Audio drivers, follow by the Conexant drivers. The reason why I recommend a fresh install of xp is that when I was doing this my self I had a lot of random drivers installed (were trying to figure/found a working audio driver), going back or using these drivers didnt work. Only worked after a fresh install of xp. My installation steps were: Chipset drivers, MS universal audio drivers, Conexant HD Audio drivers. Hope this helps. |

I had the same problem with my V5101TU . If it is an intel based laptop, it will use a variation of intel HD audio (in my case, conexant HD audio) . If this is the case, then the microsoft universal audio driver thingy MUST be installed before the audio driver will work . Once you have installed this, you may have to go to the device manager (right click My Computer >> properties >> Hardware tab >> Device manager), expand the entry underf system devices , and there may be an entry with a yellow explanation mark . If this is so, double click it and choos install/update driver, and it should update . Once all this has done, the driver you got from HP should work . (of course, if it's an AMD based system, I have no idea what audio chipset it uses and so I don't know if the above steps will help . . . ) |

The install another drivers.
