| 564689 | 2007-07-01 07:24:00 | Perhaps you don't understand Hibernation. All the RAM data is written to the HDD, then the laptop powers down. When rebooted it boots from the Hiberfile to regain the previous state, but it's still a cold boot in reality from a hardware persepective. I knew that it wrote RAM to HDD, but didn't realise that it powered the whole system down, I thought it just switiched off certian components, sort of like a semi shut down. Thanks for clearing that up. |
