| 563974 | 2007-06-28 12:09:00 | I've been looking at my hijack this log and was wondering if I could (or should) remove the following entries: O20 - Winlogon Notify: WgaLogon - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WgaLogon.dll That is windows genuine advantage, which I told not to download, and have blocked from all internet access by Zone Alarm - Do I still need this file on my PC for can I tick it in hijack this? O11 - Options group: [INTERNATIONAL] International* This turned up in the last month or so and all I can find is that it has something to do with IE7 - Is it needed? O16 - DPF: {1239CC52-59EF-4DFA-8C61-90FFA846DF7E} (Musicnotes Viewer) - www.musicnotes.com O16 - DPF: {A8F2B9BD-A6A0-486A-9744-18920D898429} (ScorchPlugin Class) - www.sibelius.com I assume it's safe to tick both of these in hijack this? O23 - Service: avast! Mail Scanner - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe" /service (file missing) O23 - Service: avast! Web Scanner - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashWebSv.exe" /service (file missing) These 2 show files missing, what should I do with them? Note: They are still in running processes Oh and here's the origional, I want the nVidia stuff left in there. | 563975 | 2007-06-28 21:12:00 | I've been looking at my hijack this log and was wondering if I could (or should) remove the following entries: O20 - Winlogon Notify: WgaLogon - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WgaLogon.dll Good question. Have a read of this (support.microsoft.com) O11 - Options group: [INTERNATIONAL] International* This is something for IE 7. Dont know if its needed, if u tick it, you'll find out. O16 - DPF: {1239CC52-59EF-4DFA-8C61-90FFA846DF7E} (Musicnotes Viewer) - www.musicnotes.com O16 - DPF: {A8F2B9BD-A6A0-486A-9744-18920D898429} (ScorchPlugin Class) - www.sibelius.com They look safe, cant see why u cant tick these. O23 - Service: avast! Mail Scanner - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashMaiSv.exe" /service (file missing) O23 - Service: avast! Web Scanner - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashWebSv.exe" /service (file missing) Better leave these, even tho it says the files are missing it may stop working if u tick the entries. Since u want the Nvidia entries, I would uninstall ALL versions of Sun Java and get the latest version in my sig. 6 Update 1. |

| 563976 | 2007-06-29 02:49:00 | Thanks speedy, I'll get to doing that tonight. So basically if I remove the WGA entry I'll keep getting annoying messages about my version possibly not being genuine - I think I'll leave that on then lol. P.S. Thanks for the Sun Java tip. |
