565331 2007-07-03 05:27:00 Cant say I've seen / or heard of any routers that have a gigabit LAN connection on them.

Only 10/100.

Something must be 10/100 somewhere.

Whats the brand/model of the router?

565334 2007-07-03 05:43:00 Not a gamer, so I am off base here...but isn't 10/100 the limit anyway? No matter what the NIC is capable of, you get choked down by your ISP anyway....or not? SurferJoe46 (51)

The speed of a LAN is different to the speed u get thru an ISP on broadband.

565336 2007-07-03 06:02:00 i am trying to get 1gig speed between my NAS server, and my pc, i have installed the 1gig nic in my pc and it works great, im connected @ 1gig now, but on my server, it wont connect at that speed! handya (3666)
565337 2007-07-03 07:53:00 Is the server software capable of 1Gbps?

Silly question: have you connected that cable to the 100 Mbps port on that router? ;)

565339 2007-07-03 08:07:00 LOL this thread cracks me up, all the posters just seemed confused. Speedy there are several routers with gigabit floating around but there not mainstream yet. Joe do they even have 100mbit internet in the states?

handya what brand/model gigabit NIC are you using? Did it come with any software? All i can think of is that you may need to set the NIC to run in gigabit mode either through software or if its integrated then the BIOS.
