564705 2007-07-01 02:25:00 Over the last week I have been having major problems with my slingshot broadband. It hasn't been that good for the last month, but over the last few days I have also been having to reset my router regually due to disconnections. Also international websites re loading slower that they did with dialup.I have checked the slingshot network status page, but it says there has been no problem. I have however found that slingshot have an online forum, that many other slingshot customers are also having the same problems. Apparently Slingsho are aware of the problem, but won't publically admit to it.

If you are a slingshot customer, and are also having problems with your Slingshot Broadband, I would recommend posting on the slingshot forum at...

http://forums.slingshot.co.nz/

The more people that complain, the more likely they will listen.

564706 2007-07-01 04:59:00 Did not know that slingshot even had a forum page. Talking to them directly on the phone doesnt seem to solve any problems :groan: , maybe they like to read and understand the problem in their spare time and than just ignore it :D ronyville (10611)

How easy is it to switch to another provider. I hae heard that you do have downtime, which can mean a day or longer of no internet. That is the main reason I am apprehensive on switching.

564710 2007-07-02 01:35:00 Robbyp - it appears that Slingshot have disabled new people from registering in their forum, so now there is no way to get through to them at all.
I tried registering 12 hours ago, and never received a confirmation email so I couldn't complete the registration process.
They appear to be sinking to new lows...
Shouldn't stuff like this be reported in the media?

Maybe you could blog your problems and load them onto TVNZs YouTube ;)

But even a few days of no net is better than months of crappy net, right?
Find an ISP you want to join, advise them you want to join, and they will take care of the rest. They will also advise of expected downtime (no net)
