| 564716 | 2007-07-02 10:38:00 | Maybe slingshot should to change their name to sling**** seen as they dont look after there customers. Today it has improved a lot, and I am back to normal speeds. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were worse than dialup speeds. They have said that they have now fixed the problem, but I will see how long that lasts. It doesn't appear that they work in the weekends, and only have phone support during the weekends, which can't fix problems on their network. |

Maybe slingshot should to change their name to sling**** seen as they dont look after there customers. They do try, but it takes forever to see results Today it has improved a lot, and I am back to normal speeds. For months I have persevered, hoping they will get better (not just speed, but customer relations as well). Now, after this last issue, SWMBO is annoyed at them as well. Time to change. |

| 564718 | 2007-07-03 09:43:00 | Wow, that was quick. Seems Orcon don't like to muck around Went to refresh the page (after having convo with SWMBO) and was given a bitstream Unknown realm or user error. Changed username and password to new ones (Orcon) after noticing the router was connected but using a different IP. Voila, here I am on Orcon :) Just checked the IP using online whois, definately Orcon IP |

| 564719 | 2007-07-04 10:44:00 | Robbyp - it appears that Slingshot have disabled new people from registering in their forum, so now there is no way to get through to them at all. I tried registering 12 hours ago, and never received a confirmation email so I couldn't complete the registration process. They appear to be sinking to new lows... Shouldn't stuff like this be reported in the media? Great eh? They are supposed to be the gun ISP this year. I tried joining their Wimax program up here in Whangarei, and they said I was just outside their present coverage area. Asked when they would be putting up some more radio towers to cover more of Whangarei and district etc, and they were just not interested keeping a potential customer, or try to get him interested in some other broadband service at Slingshot:groan: Customer Service minus! Try another ISP eg XNET or ? Cheers D B |

| 564720 | 2007-07-04 19:32:00 | Do let us know what they are like :)Well so far I'm impressed. 24 hours after calling them, I was connected to the Orcon service. Downtime (internet) was 20 minutes. Have run some speed tests at various times of the day, the results were between 4.5 and 5.5 Mb/s (the highest I ever recorded at Slingshot was 4.5 Mb/s) So far so good, but then again, as with Slingshot, I guess time will tell :) |

| 564721 | 2007-07-06 22:07:00 | Update: Recieved an email last nite from Slingshot advising me of this: You have been benefiting from a $10 discount on your broadband access because you've had both your toll calling and internet with Slingshot. However, we've noticed that you no longer use Slingshot as your primary toll callingprovider therefore you'll unfortunately no longer benefit from discounted internet access. From your next bill (Jul 2007 ) youll be upgraded to the non-calling version of your current internet plan. ... rung them this morning to cancel broadband. The lady I talked to seemed quite unfriendly (to the point where after she said "your services have been cancelled, thank you", I went to ask her another question only to hear beep-beep-beep from the other end ... hung up). And they're No.1??? Recommendation: don't touch Slingshot broadband with a 40' barge pole. The time I was with them (over 1 year), their speeds were mediocre (more on the slow side, had their quick days but not often), the email support had serious deficiencies and phone support was almost as bad. Things went downhill fast after Annette left I notice |

You can cancel the services by logging into your account on their website. At least it is not working for me. |
