564811 2007-07-01 10:19:00 Does anyone know of a way of exporting a subset (folder) of the FF bookmark file? Seems strange that this was not implemented in the program. I've tried searching for a suitable extension but can't seem to find one. Found a couple of guys who wanted this feature as well, though! linw (53)
564812 2007-07-01 12:23:00 You could try Scrapbook: addons.mozilla.org

But yeah, this is a problem I hope they really address in FF3.

564814 2007-07-02 09:46:00 I've used this one with success:

http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/

takes a little bit of getting used to, but from memory you can select the folder (within bookmarks) to back-up/transfer/restore

564815 2007-07-02 22:40:00 All I want to do is be able to export a bookmark folder to an html file so I can pass it on to others to take advantage of my bookmark collection. Can't see how mozback does this, though. linw (53)
564816 2007-07-04 09:45:00 There is a slightly messy way to do this - obtain the bookmarks.html file (from /home/johnd/.mozilla/firefox/xy0n1h6u.default on my Linux PC but from c:\program files on a windows PC I guess). Then edit with any HTML editor to remove any bookmarks you do not want to share - resave and send. johnd (85)
564817 2007-07-04 10:06:00 So whats so difficult??

Just go to organize bookmarks, file /export, save the bookmarks and import them on another computer.

What do u mean by subset?

A folder in the bookmarks section.
Or a folder of a folder in a bookmarks section.

Ditto. You can right click the html file (in Windows) and choose to open it in Notepad and then simply delete all the irrelevant bookmarks.
