| 566009 | 2007-07-05 05:49:00 | Hi all, its been a while since ive been on pressf1, so many ppl here nowadays :P umm, my problem, my old comp had 512mb ram, consisting of 2 x 256, i succesfully removed both of the 256s and installed it in another computer (all went good) but then it was decided to keep the old pc and thus i was instructed to put 256mb back into it.. so, when i tried putting the remaining 256 ram chip back into the old comp its seemed to click securely into place, but now the old computer beeps when its turned on and just goes blank after the initial boot screen. I had antistatic gloves, the whole nine yards so i cant have shorted anything, the chips came from the old pc, but now they arent recognised by it; have i by any chance bent some pins in the ram slot? or damaged the ram chip? Cheers. |
