| 565812 | 2007-07-04 14:13:00 | Horrors,_:horrified I became fed up with ZoneAlarm, so I downloaded Sygate personal firewall 5 . 6 and installed it; forgetting to uninstall ZA first . After restarting the computer, Sygate started and immediately gave the message that it had encountered an error and had to shut down . Then another message, Dr Watson has encountered a problem and needs to shut down . I uninstalled ZA restarted again, and again installed Sygate, only to get the same message . As before Sygate would not close and task manager couldn't end it either . I uninstalled Sygate and tried again from the beginning, after cleaning the registry . The same problem . :mad: Uninstalled Sygate, cleaned the registry again I then installed ZoneAlarm, or I tried to; a new problem . ZA tells me that it can't access "True Vector" and I need to stop the process before installation can proceed . I can't find True Vector on my computer and Windows Help has nothing to say on the matter!! What is the solution to this problem? Please help, I have no Fire Wall now . :help: S |

I discovered that the problem was that the uninstaller had left 'VSMON . exe TrueVector Service' in the System 32 folder . Once that was gone so was the problem . I am now using Kerio anyway . Like I said I was getting fed up with ZA putting every program and installer in the program control list . Thanks for making the effort to help . :) |
