565471 2007-07-03 21:29:00 Is there such a thing? I am right-handed but last Wednesday night got knocked off my bike by a man in a hurry in a Nissan. (He didn't even want to stop - but thankfully the Police had other ideas). I now sport 4-5 broken ribs, broken shoulderblade, broken acromium and broken collarbone - the latter two with a plate each inserted for strength.

However my main problem (apart from slow, inacccurate typing with my left hand, and the pain and what kind of bike to get to replace my Avanti) is my mouse. I am very attached to my M$ Intellimouse, which is shaped for right-handed people, with browser buttons by the thumb.

I hate the generic, no-shaped mouse. I think that a shaped, left-handed mouse might be easier/quicker to 'get to grips with' (please excuse pun). Otherwise I will have six weeks of fighting with the mouse on the wrong side of the keyboard.

Are there any (preferably available online in NZ or via a short, wife-enabled drive around Auckland) that do a similar job to the intellimouse that you can recommend?

ps Sorry to hear about the accident. A similar thing happened to mw many years ago riding a 50cc scooter. So I know how you are feeling. Keep smiling tho, alive you can feel the pain !!!!! PJ

565473 2007-07-04 11:12:00 Cheers PJ - I know how to swap the buttons over, but my mouse of choice is designed as a decidedly righthanded one, and just swapping the buttons isn't really enough to make it usable in a left hand.

I think I may have tracked down a likely temporary replacement in the form of a Logitech MX610(?), but was hoping for some personal recommendations from our illustrious members. Looks like there aren't too many southpaws out there...

(Thanks for the commiserations - crazy thing was, I was riding in a group of about a dozen, and I was probably the most obvious thing on the road that night - flashing LEDs on a hi-vis vest, flashing LEDs on my helmet, halogen headlight - and yet somehow the idiot didn't see me!!)

This would be a good one for a left hander, I've got one here on my left.

I also have a G7 for my right hand as my main mouse.

And yes I use both mouses at the same time.

I'm left handed, but use the mouse with my right hand.

I still only have one mouse pointer, just two mouses to control it.;)

Oh and they are wireless with USB transmitter, not ps2

565479 2007-07-05 03:36:00 Hmmm...... next time I reboot I might try plugging in a USB mousie and see what happens. :p FoxyMX (5)

That's what you get for being a target the driver can see . Some of them haven't got very good vison, especially for anything on two wheels . ;) Graham L (2)
