566056 2007-07-09 10:04:00 Hey, another question... Is it better to have the same amount of RAM (512MB) in each slot or would it be okay to buy a 1Gig stick and chuck that one in with my 512MB stick? springa886 (10558)
566057 2007-07-09 10:32:00 Legend DDR 512MB PC3200 512MB DDR 400MHZ DIMM 184-pin

I know Hynix is cheaper but might not compatible with the system.

Legend do an L series and a T series.
L series is always Hynix, T might not be. And with the L series you get normal or Intel Cert. Intel Cert is comaptible with these sort of brand things.

If you want Micron chip go for Crucial. But it is a lot cheapest right? Crucial is certainly not cheap, like my Ballistix Tracer is not cheap at all compare to Corsair and others.

Generally 2*512MB is better than 1*1GB

566060 2007-07-10 08:01:00 Generally 2*512MB is better than 1*1GB:confused: But his MOBO doesn't support Dual-Channel for some reason. PedalSlammer (8511)
566061 2007-07-17 08:43:00 so does that mean that i can't have 2 *512MB sticks at once? Basically all I want to know is what stick should i buy and install next to the 512 stick that's already in there. springa886 (10558)
566062 2007-07-17 21:33:00 Try this site and they can tell you exactly what you need . . . they will even scan your system for the best info .

LINK . crucial . com/systemscanner/" target="_blank">www . crucial . com

I use it all the time . . as I am too lazy to look up all the info myself . . and I have bought from them very successfully many times .

. and yes . . they DO have NZ shipping!
