565418 2007-07-03 09:57:00 Just got a call from the neighbour advising me that everytime she plugs her hubbys USB memory stick into her computer, the screen goes black, the computer shuts down. If she starts the computer with the stick still plugged in, it sees new hardware and then goes to find the drivers. Trouble is, I don't have any, and neither does she.
I assume DSE memory sticks do have drivers, anyone know where I can get some? Or will 98 not run with a memory stick?

(I have never used one so have never dealt with them)

You need 98 SE +

565421 2007-07-03 10:11:00 Hmm according to this (www.everythingusb.com)

You need Windows ME +. 98 and 98 SE dont support USB 2.0.

565422 2007-07-03 10:19:00 Fairly sure there are drivers on the DSE site for Win98SE, I have downloaded them about 3 months ago.

The drive should have come with a CD of drivers for the older o/s's.

Post info on USB Flash Drive and I will look for the drivers.

565423 2007-07-03 10:21:00 where did the USB2 bit come from?

if its running 98se the controoler will be USB1. the mem stick will run at usb1.

yes you need the drivers for it, check the DSE site.

Sweet, thanx. Found em (www.dse.co.nz) (I guess I should have started there first but I didn't realise DSE actually had driver downloads) :)

I did ask the neighbour for info, all she could tell me was that it was a DSE 128MB Memory Stick given to her husband (probably by his place of work)

I recently bought a 1GB DSE flash drive, and it only came with a lanyard, a (very) short extension cable and the drive. An earlier (128MB) DSE flash drive (now a Lego brick :p) did come with a CD, which had drivers.
