566785 2007-07-07 08:20:00 Hi all
After getting sick of my family using my pc and changing things around I formatted and set up "user logins" for each of them. I decided to download Google Earth (under my Login).
How do I get it to work for each user? It works fine for me but I don’t know what to do to get it operational for them on their user logins.
I have tried shortcuts but that didn’t work.
I am sure it is simple but I just can’t figure it out (and I searched Windows Help too)

Many thanks
Meg

566788 2007-07-07 09:06:00 No, it didnt give a custon option for install. Some softwares can be selected as single or multiple users installation. But never use Google Earth on my home crappy PC. Check out the policy in Administrative tools.
:stare: Sharing is real annoying, too bad I'm gonna locked up my new system and no one can use it.
Hey Meg, need help building a system? Are you planing on Web, office, emails, google earth, etc. Not for gaming? If not gaming your specs looks fine. Still I wonder why people still want 17" monitor.

This when you get your new system I would think.
If you ever do!

566790 2007-07-07 10:41:00 Sorry Meg.

I have Google Earth and only under one profile with admin rights. I live alone. I could make another user and reinstall to check.

I have time at the moment so just may do that.

566791 2007-07-07 10:56:00 Hi Meg.

I just created a new account called "test"

I logged into that account and installed my download into that account. It works.

And you are correct about Custom install. There is no option.

Therefore install for each user.

566794 2007-07-07 22:14:00 PedalSlammer: Would you mind keeping to the topic that the original poster asked about, namely, using Google Earth in other accounts? I am sure Meg doesn't appreciate all that fluff you are waffling on about . :annoyed:

Meg: It's not the best solution I know, but could you install Google Earth in an account that everyone has access to?

Personally I don't like everyone having their own user accounts as if the computer gets an infection it takes forever to scan each and every one of them to clean it up . I do understand your reasons for it, however, as I had the same problem until I built my own PC and let the rest of the tribe use my older one . They were told that if they mucked theirs up it would be formatted without saving any of their data . Have never had any (major) problems since . ;) :D
