566466 2007-07-07 05:42:00 I have Windows installed here and it works for me. Along with my applications. Windows is not used for browsing as I understand it. So if I went and bought a 'Mac then I could browse on the Internet using just the O/S?

Try getting off your Platform or Soapbox.
Or if you can actually help a pressF1 member with a problem then feel free.

I wasn't standing on a soap box or trying to convert anyone, I was answering an earlier question posted by Myth asking why I had Windows installed on my iMac. Using a different OS won't solve your IE problem but using a different browser might. I also mentioned in my first post what AV I was using on Windows.

And to go back. You were converting fonts were you not?
I think you are trying to convert people as well. Forgive me if I am wrong.

Going back to me and a few others. Back to investment and hardware.

And thank you for editing my post and not replying to all.

For me the answer is what works for you and family or friends.

I wasn't converting anyone, I was just explaining the reason why I had carried my old Windows version of Photoshop and InDesign over. The fonts were originally Mac fonts from design school that were converted in Fontgrapher to PC fonts so that I could use them at home for design jobs in Freehand. I now need to convert them back to Mac Fonts so that I can use them in CS3 for Mac since they are a more extensive collection than what comes with your standard Mac or PC installation.

I was just replying to the relevant parts of your post. In terms of hardware investment, you invest in the tools that are suited to the job you do.

Over to you with using certain applications.
Some people use applications then put more fonts on etc.
I hope you realise Mac users happen to be in a minority.
This does not make them wrong.

 What point are you trying to make Sweep. I am well aware that PCs and Macs only come with a certain font selection which is why I was adding a larger selection to give me more choice. Duh. I just have to convert them from PC fonts first.
Macs are a minority...no sh*t! ( they are growing in number though ;) )

My first and original answer was actually on topic in that I use AVG on XP Pro (secondary system) and had recently installed Avast on my bosses laptop as well as Comodo firewall on both.
