| 566822 | 2007-07-07 19:23:00 | If I do "redo-MBR" for Grub will it just repair the previous mbr or will it detect other OS's and then install a complete new one with all listed. | kjaada (253) | ||
| 566823 | 2007-07-07 20:27:00 | Have you tried typing 'man redo-mbr' in console? for the manual. This may tell you what you need to know This page (www.brunolinux.com) also has some info on it |

| 566824 | 2007-07-07 21:34:00 | man with all sorts of different input says no manual avail. I had visited the page given but am no wiser. My problem is that I had Xandros on one disk and it setup the lilo boot loader. On the other disk I had PCLinux tr4 which often came up with "could not find a boot loader installed" but still booted ok.I then installed PCLinuxOS release version on the Xandros partition and the Grub install did not find the XN OS.If I run redo now it asks which MBR I want to redo as it finds both.I also have Super Grub but have never used it and do not know if it will replace the MBR with one that will boot both systems. |
