| 566264 | 2007-07-05 23:31:00 | I recently installed Windows Vista Starter on my old PC just for an upgrade, i wanna know how to remove the icon/picture on the bottom right of the screen, it's not really an icon it's more like a logo or a permanant picture fixed onto the desktop, i tried changing the wallpaper it doesn't work and i tried to move it or delete it and doesn't work. It's annoying cuz it's always on top of my applications, if i open my browser it's on top, if i open windows media player it's on top, everything i open is on top except for games and it's really annoying me somehow. i60.photobucket.com |

| 566267 | 2007-07-06 00:59:00 | i also have Vista Home Premium and Ultimate, those 2 didn't have the annoying icon/logo like the one in Starter. Starter, in my opinion is the best for gaming as it only requires 256mb. Other vista version eats up too much resources, it's really in-efficient and i think i might go back to XP. I just wanna remove the logo for now, help any1? |

| 566268 | 2007-07-06 01:00:00 | It's certainly not on my version of Vista, or any other version I have heard of . As it says here ( . wikipedia . org/wiki/Windows_Vista_editions_and_pricing" target="_blank">en . wikipedia . org) Such like Windows XP Starter Edition, this edition is limited to emerging markets such as Brazil, Colombia, India, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines, mainly to offer a legal alternative to using unauthorized copies . It is not available in the United States, Canada, Europe, or Australia (although a trial version can be installed from the 32bit DVD) . It has significant limitations, such as only allowing a user to launch three applications with a user interface at once, not accepting incoming network connections, a physical memory limit of 1 GB, and will only be available in a 32-bit version . Processor support is limited to AMD's Athlon XP, Duron, Sempron and Geode processors, and Intel's Celeron, Pentium III and certain models of Pentium 4 . The usable portion of the Hard Disk is limited to 160 GB . Starter Edition comes with some desktop wallpaper not found in the retail versions of Vista . |
