567763 2007-07-10 23:17:00 Hey there

I have a Logitech G15 keyboard and just got a set of Microsoft LX-3000 headphones. Installed fine. When I enter a game I get a 1 second delay in the keyboard response and the game appears to lag. I have tried various sound settings etc without any success.

I then plugged in a PS2 keyboard and the laggy feel increased 10x fold.

If I unplug the headphones and run normal ones with the G15 everything is back to normal. I have tried running the G15 and headphones out of various USB ports and controllers but nothing changes.

Does anyone have any ideas?

567764 2007-07-10 23:25:00 I think USB headphones by-pass the sound card therefore all sound processing is undertaken via the USB bus ie: the cpu.
As to why a ps2 keyboard would increase the lag?
Are the usb ports usb1.1 or 2?

567766 2007-07-10 23:59:00 The dictaphone typist at my work use these usb headphone because some on-board sound cards volume and clarity vary so much, however I dont think usb headphones are made for gaming.

I dont know what to suggest other than using proper headphones that use your sound card.
