567894 2007-07-11 05:10:00 http://www.spywareterminator.com/

Like I said, I'm not saying it's the best on the internet, but it's found things Spybot didn't.

567895 2007-07-11 06:16:00 i thought spybot search and destroy was the best anty spyware

Its good.
But you never use only one.
What one may miss others may find.

I have stacks of them.

567896 2007-07-11 07:09:00 I have never had any issues with Comodo whatsoever. Very easy to use and very secure and stable and no, have never had to un-install it. I use it with AVG and Avast which for my money are still the best AV's around.

Spybot SD is also very good and especially when it comes to denying things access to startup and registry.

567897 2007-07-11 08:51:00 Okay, now I need to know what the best PAID for anti virus is? I found AVG free and pro are almost identical....

Doesnt matter what price, tell me the best anti virus (full) on the internet.

567898 2007-07-11 09:02:00 Well, I found out what the prob was with Comodo blocking the Windowsupdate site lol.

Funny, that it has only just happened, and the guys in the Comodo forum say, doing this is usually the case for most firewalls.

First time, I've ever heard of adding Windowsupdate to a firewall, for it to work. I've never had to do it before, till now.

So, if u get the misconfigured proxy/firewall error , if u use Comodo, this is what u do.

You have to add these rules.

Rule 1:
Action : Allow
Protocol : IP
Direction : In
Source IP : Any
Destination IP : Host name: http://*.update.microsoft.com
IP Details : Any

Rule 2:
Action : Allow
Protocol : IP
Direction : In
Source IP : Any
Destination IP : Host name: https://*.update.microsoft.com
IP Details : Any

Wolf, do a search on Google/Yahoo for reviews on different AV programs.

What other people use and like, maybe different to what you want or like.

I use Avast Pro, its good enough for me, it scans in IM programs, on sites, email, files you download, in P2P programs (dont use this anyway), Network Shield (it detected something on the other PC once, thru the network), and Outlook.

567899 2007-07-11 09:21:00 Speedy, wouldn't it be easier for Comodo to set that up internally in their firewall. Maybe they will implement it in further updates. It seems silly that anyone would have to manually configure it. Never had that problem with Sygate. :2cents: intel hunter (6666)

567902 2007-10-15 07:43:00 I managed to get ZA full suite for nothing!!! All i had to do was buy some other piece of software called Powerboost or (something) for about $15 US.
Check out zonealarm site when you buy the AV suite they throw you over to this other offer...good luck
